Happy Birthday!
And behind the cut, a pic I dug out from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back, just for pure nostalgia!
( Sildil thinking... )
I think he's musing on life, Mirien, the state of the world and Mirien, of course!

Hollie Rogers - Nicotine - The funniest home videos are here
http://www.hollierogers.com/
This is Hollie who is a fellow drama student, singer/songwriter that middle son Nick plays bass for in her band. Just spreading the word y'know...
It's almost traditional here at home to go for a walk on Easter Monday, and yesterday's was pretty awesome.
First of all we went to the church at St Kenelm, a favourite place of mine...
( Photos here... )
Hysterical! My favourite line: 'I'm here because I'm BORED...'
Thank you Middle Son for sending me this!
I just love Isaac Guillory's guitar playing. He makes it look so damn easy...the song's very pretty too and his voice is amazing.
My current FAVOURITE song...as well as being a damn hot video.
Was just posting a reply to a friend's comment and remembered this lovely poem and thought it deserved a wider audience:
The Ruined Maid - a poem by Thomas Hardy
"O 'Melia, my dear, this does everything crown!
Who could have supposed I should meet you in Town?
And whence such fair garments, such prosperi-ty?"
"O didn't you know I'd been ruined?" said she.
"You left us in tatters, without shoes or socks,
Tired of digging potatoes, and spudding up docks;
And now you've gay bracelets and bright feathers three!"
"Yes: that's how we dress when we're ruined," said she.
-"At home in the barton you said 'thee' and 'thou,'
And 'thik oon,' and 'theƤs oon,' and 't'other'; but now
Your talking quite fits 'ee for high compa-ny!"
"Some polish is gained with one's ruin," said she.
"Your hands were like paws then, your face blue and bleak
But now I'm bewitched by your delicate cheek,
And your little gloves fit as on any la-dy!"
"We never do work when we're ruined," said she.
"You used to call home-life a hag-ridden dream,
And you'd sigh, and you'd sock; but at present you seem
To know not of megrims or melancho-ly!"
"True. One's pretty lively when ruined," said she.
"I wish I had feathers, a fine sweeping gown,
And a delicate face, and could strut about Town!"
"My dear a raw country girl, such as you be,
Cannot quite expect that. You ain't ruined," said she.
Sooooo busy the past few days/week, mainly with lots and lots of taxi services for Lizzie. She has her college two nights and one day a week, and with spousal unit away overnight for one of them, it meant I had to do both the there and back run.
Also this week, she's been doing a four day + one day's rehearsal catwalk thingy at the NEC near Birmingham at the hobby and papercraft show (which has meant lifts to and from the mini bus pick up point). Her college provide the models and she has had four catwalks a day.
Below is a photo just to show you the sort of thing she has been wearing!
( Lizzie )
Lizzie in the Rio costume!
The one on the hanger on the right is also one she has to wear, its a Bo Peep costume, complete with a shepherd's crook! She didn't make these ones, the girls at the centre just model them.
She finishes tomorrow and will have a VERY well-earned rest, as will we from driving her everywhere! Still, she has passed her theory driving test (Yay, well done Lizzie!) and can take her practical soon. The moment she can drive herself will mean that at least her evening runs are independent from us as she will use my car. Fingers crossed for her!
